This area was founded in 1837. The community church was built in 1868, under the guidance of the Reverend George M. Reynolds, son of one of the pioneer settlers. Soon after, the cemetery was established. Mr. Reynolds served for many years as minister of the church. Several of the original settlers still reside in this area. The current congregation took the church over in 1956, and has been serving there since. In 1979, it was listed as an Historic Site and a marker was erected. The cemetery is across the road from the church!

About The Residence

This is an old, small, historic church. It consists of a main sanctuary/worship area, a balcony along the back wall that has the opening to the attic and bell tower.. and the basement, which has a nursury and kitchen/dining area.. along with a few other small rooms and the bathrooms in the back..

Equipment Placement

We had 5 cameras recording.. IR cam 1: at the front of the room, facing to the back of the sanctuary and aimed at the 2 entry doors, with part of the balcony in view; IR cam 2: in the balcony, facing down into the sanctuary; IR cam 3: in the basement, facing some of the tables and at the door that tends to open on its own; IR cam 4: in the basement, facing the kitchen/dining area and the back door. We also had another handheld night vision camera, which was placed in the attic, giving us audio and visual up there.

We had 5 voice recorders running.. one in the sanctuary, on the pulpit, one in the balcony, one in the nursery in the basement, one in the kitchen/dining area of the basement, and the 5th was carried around by teams as they investigated. We also had 2 EMF detectors, a K-II meter, a thermal detector, 2 digital thermometers, and digital cameras.. along with our other usual equipment.

Setting Up

We got to the location at 9:00 pm. After talking with the patrons who let us in, and getting a tour of the church, we set up "central base" in the teams van in the parking lot behind the church. Once we had the cameras set up and running.. we took photos, temp. and EMF readings. Then we went lights out. We took about 20 minutes of silent treatment before the first team of 2 went inside for their session..
